Child Safety Standards
Last updated: May 16, 2026
Joiyn has a zero-tolerance policy for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). Any content, account, or behaviour that sexualises, exploits, or endangers minors is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate account removal and, where appropriate, referral to law enforcement.
1. Scope
These standards apply to all users of the Joiyn mobile application (available on iOS and Android) and to all content — including text, images, event descriptions, and chat messages — created or shared within the platform.
2. Prohibited content and behaviour
The following are strictly prohibited on Joiyn:
- Any content that sexually depicts, sexualises, or exploits minors (persons under 18 years of age).
- Grooming — any communication or behaviour intended to build trust with a minor for the purpose of sexual abuse or exploitation.
- Soliciting, sharing, or distributing child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in any form.
- Creating events, profiles, or communications designed to facilitate contact with minors for exploitative purposes.
- Sharing or linking to external platforms, channels, or resources that contain CSAM or related content.
- Any attempt to circumvent our safety measures to contact or exploit minors.
3. Minimum age
Joiyn is intended for users aged 13 and older. Users must be at least 13 years old to create an account. Users under 18 are subject to additional protections under our platform policies and applicable law.
We do not knowingly allow users under the age of 13 to create accounts. If we become aware of an account belonging to a user under 13, we will terminate that account immediately.
4. Reporting CSAE content
Any user can report content or behaviour they believe violates these standards:
- In-app reporting: From an event or user profile, open the menu (⋯) and choose Report. For photos (including images in event chat), press and hold the picture, then Report. Pick the most relevant reason and submit. Reported content is hidden on your device right away while our team reviews.
- Email: Send a report to shirocoding@gmail.com with the subject line "CSAE Report". Include as much detail as possible — screenshots, usernames, and a description of the content or behaviour.
All reports are treated confidentially. We do not disclose reporter identities to the reported user.
5. How we respond to reports
When a CSAE report is received:
- The reported account is reviewed and may be suspended pending investigation.
- Content identified as CSAM is removed immediately. We preserve evidence as required by applicable law.
- We report confirmed CSAM to the appropriate authorities, including where applicable:
- Poland: the Dyżurnet hotline (operated by NASK) and Polish law enforcement;
- Other EU countries: the relevant national law enforcement authority and, where available, the national INHOPE member hotline in the user's country;
- United States: the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) via CyberTipline, where required by US law (18 U.S.C. § 2258A).
- Accounts confirmed to have violated these standards are permanently banned.
6. Platform safeguards
Joiyn's design includes features that reduce the risk of exploitation:
- Host approval: Every event participant must be individually approved by the event organiser before gaining access to the group or chat.
- Event-scoped chat: Messaging is restricted to confirmed participants within a specific event — users cannot send direct messages to strangers.
- Mutual-like connections: Quick-invite features are only available between users who have mutually indicated interest after attending the same event.
- Account deletion: Users can permanently delete their account and all associated data at any time via the app or our account deletion page.
7. Cooperation with authorities
Joiyn cooperates fully with law enforcement and child protection authorities in Poland, the European Union, and other jurisdictions where our users are located. We preserve and provide account data in response to valid legal process. We do not tip off users who are the subject of law enforcement requests relating to child safety.
Our initial launch focus is Poland and the EU. We comply with applicable EU and national child protection obligations, including mandatory reporting requirements where they apply. Confirmed CSAM is reported through the channels described in section 5. Where cross-border coordination is needed, we cooperate with competent authorities, including Europol where appropriate.
8. Child safety point of contact
For child safety concerns, legal requests, or regulatory enquiries related to CSAE, contact us at:
We aim to respond to child safety matters within 24 hours.
9. Policy updates
We review and update these standards regularly. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notification. Continued use of Joiyn after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated standards.
